City of Houston Certified Compostable Bags
Beginning April 5, 2010, in an effort to save taxpayers money and keep compostable yard waste from needlessly filling up costly landfills, the City of Houston, Texas will require the use of certified compostable bags for such waste. This change requires residents within the City of Houston to use “compostable bags” for city collection of green organic material.
Biobag® 100% biodegradable and compostable bags are made from corn starch and organic resins, which enables them to be biologically decomposed entirely. On average, these bags will completely break down in as little as 45 days in a composting environment, leaving no harmful residues behind. As such, BioBag® products meet ASTM D6400 specifications.
Our City of Houston-approved compostable bags meet ASTM D6400 specifications.
Available in standard size of 32 ˝” x 40” (33 gallons).
